MARIA
Ayurvedic practitioner, massage therapist and Breathwork facilitator
Hey, I’m Maria,
A certified Ayurvedic practitioner, integrative bodyworker, Marmapuncturist and Breathwork facilitator working in East London.
My purpose is to empower people to find balance in these demanding modern times through the practices of this time tested traditional system of natural medicine. It's all about tuning into the wisdom we already have as human beings. I came into Ayurveda through my yoga practice, looking for a solution when I experienced a deeply challenging time in my life. I was immediately drawn into it for its holistic, simple, yet powerful approach to healing and well-being.
Ayurveda and yoga are sister sciences that tap into herbal therapy, nutrition, lifestyle practices, movement, circadian rhythms routines, massage, marma therapy and breathwork as part of their toolkit to address health imbalances and prevent future illness. Simple shifts in daily habits can drastically impact our quality of life and well-being. Whether you are struggling with chronic illness, experiencing digestive issues, suffering from skin issues, hormonal imbalances, pain, or anxiety, or want to experience a more balanced lifestyle, I can guide you through the process for you to become your own healer.
Passionate about combining Eastern and Western methods, I have trained in different disciplines; my qualifications include a BSc in Psychology, DAPC Ayurvedic practitioner and therapist, RYT +700 Yoga teacher, Advanced massage therapist ITEC, DipHE Marmapucnture-Indian Acupunture and Advanced Oxygen Advantage Breathwork instructor.
As a lifelong Ayurveda and yoga student, I am currently undertaking a DIpHE in Ayurvedic Medicine at the College of Ayurveda UK. Yet, despite my years of study, my own experience of healing and the healing of other people I've guided, has equipped me to support you. I am also a member of the Ayurvedic professional's association (APA) and the complementary Therapist association (CTHa).
Outside the clinic, I dream of a space in the countryside surrounded by nature, animals and homegrown food to share these practices—an oasis for growth and healing. In the meantime, find me in the community gardens learning regenerative agriculture and western herbalism as part of the crew at Community Apothecary.
