JOANNA

Our clinic manager Jo is an acupuncturist living in Loughton, Essex and working in Hackney Downs, London. She recently founded the practice Acu.E8 which is located at The Factory in Dalston.

Joanna studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture for 3 years full-time with The City College of Acupuncture (CCA) in London. She received a 2:1 Hons Degree Level Licentiate Diploma accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB).

Having first experienced complementary medicine at eleven years old for chronic eczema at the Royal London Hospital under the care of Dr Siegfried Trefzer. This began a life-long journey of combining Western and Eastern medicine to gain optimal health for herself and her patients.

'I feel it is an honour and a privilege to be able to practice acupuncture and pass on this medicine onto others. After suffering with a digestive problem that would not resolve, acupuncture alleviated the issue and I was hooked from that moment on to the improvements it made to my health.'

Joanna is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and has special interests in women's health, gastroenterology disorders, geriatric health and acute/chronic pain. She previously studied medical massage, and public health nutrition before her acupuncture degree.
