VIVIEN
Acupuncturist and Herbal Medicine
Vivien was born and raised in a Chinese medicine family, her childhood experiences with acupuncture and Chinese herbs, within her family were of great influence on her and her studies.
After moving to the UK as a teenager, Vivien once thought her connection with Chinese medicine was lost. She then went to pursue her other dreams, including travelled around the world, studied and worked in cultural and documentary-filming fields. However, the spark of desire for learning Chinese medicine knowledge inside her was never gone. She then realised her life experiences were part of her journey of self-cultivation and walking towards the sea of oriental philosophy and Chinese medicine.
With the desire to understand the deeper roots of disharmony, to practice the natural way of harmonising and to help others, Vivien is trained for three years in acupuncture at the City College of Acupuncture, she is also trained for two years in classical Chinese herbal medicine (Jing Fang) apprenticeship with Frances Turner.
With a particular interest in Daoist philosophy, which is the same philosophy and wisdom underpins classical Chinese medicine, Vivien is doing a six-month postgraduate course in Huang Lao Daoist acupuncture with Roisin Golding. Vivien also integrates taoist cultivation into her daily life under the guidance of her Daoist teacher, which she sees as integral to bring holistic approach to the care and treatment of others in her Chinese medicine practice.
Vivien is keen to give support to people of all ages and states of health.
