Ilze is a licensed Tui Na massage practitioner and acupuncturist and a member of the British Acupuncture Council.

She was first introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) about twenty years ago when she discovered Shaolin Chi Gong that she still practices daily. Chi Gong, or the practice of ‘internal alchemy'; one of the five pillars or branches of TCM. Practicing Chi Gong daily supported Ilze greatly over the years whilst working as a curator and producing research for her PhD in Arts and Media Technologies.

However, things changed when she became a mother, one of the best life experiences also depleted her body and shifted the balance of the body. Ilze became extremely tired both mentally and physically, she could not concentrate and experienced physical pains that she did not have before. Her GP could only help with prescribed pain killers. This is when she walked into a Tui Na clinic and met Sarah Pritchard, who is the foremost Tui Na practitioner in Britain and also her teacher. Tui Na relieved the pain and restored balance to Ilze's body postpartum.

This experience eventually led Ilze to change career and retrain as a Tui Na practitioner and acupuncturist.

Within Ilze's treatments you will find a combination of many modalities; Tui Na, cuppingGua Sha, the use of Moxa and Auricular (ear) acupuncture. Ilze is also a qualified Reiki practitioner. She is passionate about eastern medicine and its benefits. Tui Na is great for chronic conditions, women’s health, pregnancy, post-natal and maternal support.
